In late May/early June, you will receive an 

.At a specified time in June, you will take an entrance exam. The entrance exam is oral. The maximum number of points you can score on the exam is 60. If you have a total of 30 points or more, you have a chance to be admitted - but you need to be within the expected admission number for the programme.In July, the admission procedure is evaluated, and the information about its result is sent to all applicants.Candidates who are successful in the admission procedure are subject to

.Those who have properly documented their previous education and language skills may attend the enrolment in the study, which takes place in September.

Graduates possess a general knowledge of the problems of Latin America in relation to its historical development and characteristic culture that has evolved since the late 16th century, on the basis of pre-Colombian communities and immigration from colonial metropolises and Africa. Graduates have a knowledge of the basic facts of Latin American history, and the ability to learn new facts, being helped by the knowledge of the theory and methodology of the discipline. Graduates are familiar with the development of opinions on the basic problems of the region’s history, and the discipline’s institutions, personalities, periodicals, and key works. They have developed language skills in Spanish and English enabling them to study specialized literature and engage in discussions within the international scientific community.

 Entrance exams are held in May or June of the given year.

Entrance examination: single round – oral interview

Content, subject matter of entrance examination

Discussion of the project of Ph.D. dissertation: 0–30 points;

Assessment of the Applicant’s previous studies, research, and other academic activities: 0–15 points;

An applicant can only be admitted if they submitted a proof of their language competence for study in the respective programme, are awarded a minimum of 30 points in the entrance examination and, at the same time, score enough points to place among the expected number of students admitted to the respective programme of study (see the admissions procedure requirements applicable to the individual programmes of study); admissions will be granted to all applicants who score the same number of points as the applicant who comes in last place in the ranking of admissions. Please note that different expected numbers of admissions apply to full-time and combined forms of study. Applicants cannot be admitted without submitting evidence of their prior education no later than on the enrolment day.

Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme.
